Explain your background or how you got interested in your chosen field?:
Been raising horses all my life. I retired from trucking hauling heavy equipment after 38 years and decided to make this a business that is available to the public.
What do you think helped you the most to make a career as a woman? What is the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?:
Hard work and determination. Of course a huge dose of stubbornness mixed in. I am also always wanting to learn.
As a female leader, what has been the most significant barrier in your career?:
It has definitely changed over the years. It used to be some men that always thought they knew better than a woman.
What mistakes have you made along the way and what did you learn from them?:
I’ve made many mistakes along the way….too many to mention but I’m always open to learning new and useful techniques.
Do you or did you have a woman leader as a mentor or are there specific women who inspired you and why?:
No I just could never figure out why I couldn’t do whatever needed to be done.
You are a busy woman. What do you do to relax and maintain good mental health?:
Talk to other woman in business that understand.
